I shouldn’t have gone down that ladder.

I was just delivering groceries. It was supposed to be a ten-minute errand before I took off for two weeks of freedom. But then a pro football quarterback’s over-the-top doomsday bunker became my prison.

When the door slammed shut, five strangers were stranded underground with no idea when—or if—help was coming. As a claustrophobic, it’s my worst-case scenario. It’s magnified by the company, which includes arrogant, golden boy football plater Derek Heaton. He’s not my type, but trapped together with nothing but time, I start to see the man beneath the record-breaking sports star. And he starts to see the woman who doesn’t know how to let people in.
