About this ebook

A mind-bending new theory from a cognitive neuroscientist will change the way you think about the nature of the universe—and your own role in it.

In times of widespread uncertainty and division, it can become easy to feel pessimistic about humans as a species. Are we simply wired for chaos and destruction? But questions like this miss the bigger picture. In order to truly understand ourselves and chart a path toward a better future, we need to zoom out . . . and examine our place in the cosmos.

Our Cosmic Purpose reveals what neuroscientist Bobby Azarian calls “the Unifying Theory of Reality,” a bold new theory about life, consciousness, and the evolution of the universe. Blending information theory, thermodynamics, and pop culture touchstones from The Breakfast Club to The Lord of the Rings, Azarian, a science journalist and author of The Romance of Reality, challenges scientific nihilism and presents his findings revealing a self-organizing cosmos that spins patterns into purpose.

From the big bang to the dawn of consciousness and the advent of culture and technology, Our Cosmic Purpose lays out evidence that evolution occurs on multiple levels, as a collaborative “game” between order and chaos. This paradigm-shifting theory invites readers to consider:
  • Life’s existential purpose in the cosmos, as well as the role of the individual in the big picture
  • How taking a “meta-perspective” provides solutions for resolving conflict and achieving compromise
  • How diversity, complexity, and human connection tangibly enrich the universe’s complexity and its development
  • Why cooperation, not competition, is the key to prosperity
  • How to redesign our complex systems for optimal personal, economic, and existential growth

Irreverent yet based in cutting-edge science and profound philosophy, Our Cosmic Purpose is a self-help system for the individual, for society, and for the cosmos itself. Take a mental journey through time and space . . . and join the cosmic game that will determine the fate of everything.
