From the Metacomet and Tunxis Trails in the northwest corner, to the little known Mohegan Trail that passes through the Mashantucket Pequot Reservation in Uncasville, to the 9-mile Larkin State Park beginning in Naugatuck and winding into the fast disappearing wilds of Fairfield County, Steve has covered many a bend, overlook, and rock outcropping on trails throughout the Nutmeg State on foot, snowshoes, and skis when the snow sticks around long enough.
Steve has over 2 years experience as a freelance writer covering destination features, many of them focusing on outdoor attractions like Highline Park, a once abandoned elevated rail tressel above New York City's busiest streets now converted into an urban greenway for American Forest Magazine; kayaking the wide open aquamarine waters of Mariah Harbour National Park off Great Exuma in the Bahamas for GoNomad.com; and giving a first hand account of how The Wulff School of Fly Fishing in New York's Catskills keeps the intricate sport of fly fishing alive.
Steve is also a regular blogger for Planeteye.com covering the latest local news, restaurant reviews, and unique cultural offerings in NYC.
