About this ebook

Can they find a way to move past their dark secrets and find solace in each other?

Returning to his hometown in Tennessee, Samuel Campbell is searching for absolution. He made a promise in Wharton to never hurt another human ever again. Coming home is the ultimate test. There are dark memories here, a trail of bodies left behind by a once-rabid wolf. In Sevierville, he discovers the hardest part of confronting his past is facing his own conscience.

Kindergarten teacher Nadia Montanari is accustomed to whispers and stares. After all, she is recently divorced, which is the absolute *worst* thing a 1940’s American woman can be. Then, she discovers she is pregnant. If her secret comes to light, her livelihood will be taken from her. Her family will disown her. She’ll be a pariah.

When Samuel and Nadia meet, sparks fly. But both are harboring relationship-ending secrets. And there’s something far darker too: Nadia has met Samuel before. She was nearly one of Samuel’s victims back in 1937, though neither one can remember.

I enjoyed this new "Wolves of Warton" story. It is a fairly short and quick read set in the 1940's in Tennessee. This is a paranormal story with a different take on being a sick wolf. The story is about Samuel and Nadia. Sparks definitely fly between the characters. Their story develops nicely. When their secrets are revealed will they still feel the same about one another?

Samuel and Nadia's Story . . . This story adds a little something different to make this a more complex and unusual story line. Samuel Campbell is trying to find self-forgiveness for the harm he had done in the past. He returns to Tennessee to face his dark memories of all the bodies he left behind when he was a rabid wolf, uncontrollable. Nadia Montanari is a divorced kindergarten teacher who discovers she is pregnant by a man who never loved her. This pregnancy could mean she would lose her job, her family would disown her, and she would be full of shame. So when Samuel and Nadia meet and are strongly attracted to each other, they both have secrets severe enough to end any relationship. And there is a further complication neither remembers at the moment. This is not the first time Nadia has met Samuel -- she was nearly one of Samuel’s victims back in 1937 when he was on a killing spree! And after his father and Rex urge him to hunt with them, trying to make him face his fears now that he is no longer “sick”, he takes down the deer, washes the blood away, and remembers a girl he attacked but didn’t kill back in those awful rabid days… the girl was Nadia! Will he walk away from her to keep her safe? Or does he love her and find peace when he is with her? Will she even be willing to stay when he tells her the truth of what he really is?
