Acerca de este libro electrónico
Aztec Urban Planning explores the sophisticated methods the Aztecs used to design their cities, revealing how urban spaces reflected their society's complex structure.
Going beyond practical construction, the book argues that Aztec urban planning deliberately expressed political power, religious ideology, and social cohesion.
For example, the spatial organization of cities like Tenochtitlan reinforced the Aztec worldview.
Intriguingly, the Aztecs developed ingenious agricultural supports, known as chinampas, to sustain their populations, and their transport canals facilitated trade and communication.
