I always knew I would fail miserably at my calling as a slayer. I’m smaller than average. Blood makes me queasy. Add in my dislike of violence, and I’m bound to be shunned by my kind. What I didn’t expect was that they would sell me to the merciless vampire knight Nicholas “Nix” Stygian.

Bent on revenge for the disappearance of a family I vowed to protect, I buy, sight unseen, the slayer who allowed it to happen. Staying angry with her isn’t easy. Punishing her is even worse. She looks at me with her amethyst eyes, and all I want to do is punish her in other ways.
