The presence of this book, Introduction to General Linguistics, is the result of a collaborative effort among academics and practitioners. Although it is far from perfect, we hope this book can serve as a reference or reading material for both academics and professionals. The structure of this book is organized into eight chapters, covering: introduction to the history of linguistics and the definition of language, morphology, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, language corpus, and English corpora: coca.
