This book seeks to reconstruct moral education for the age of AI. It explores how ethical reflection, critical reasoning, and moral imagination can be cultivated in an algorithmically mediated society. It examines both the challenges posed by technology—bias, surveillance, digital manipulation—and the opportunities it presents to rethink education, foster digital literacy, and develop ethical agency in students of all ages.
Ariesto Hadi Sutopo is an author, lecturer, and researcher whose work bridges information technology, educational technology, and qualitative research in digital contexts. With more than fifteen years of experience, he specializes in examining how emerging technologies—particularly artificial intelligence and algorithmic systems—reshape learning environments, digital identities, and moral agency.
His scholarly focus integrates qualitative methodologies, including advanced NVivo-based data analysis, to investigate the ethical, pedagogical, and sociotechnical implications of digital transformation. He has conducted extensive research and professional training in data analysis and digital systems for government agencies, universities, and research institutions.
Ariesto’s professional journey began in multimedia development, where he mastered Adobe Flash and ActionScript programming before expanding into interactive systems and game development platforms such as GameMaker Studio. Over time, his technical expertise evolved into a broader inquiry into how digital architectures influence human cognition, social behavior, and moral reasoning in algorithmic societies.
As a researcher and multimedia innovator, he actively participates in national and international academic forums, contributing to interdisciplinary discussions on digital ethics, AI governance, and technology-enhanced learning. His work often supports collaborative innovation while critically engaging with the societal consequences of intelligent systems.
He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT). He also serves on the Technology Commission of the Indonesian Bible Society (LAI), contributing expertise at the intersection of technology, ethics, and institutional development.
Through his publications and digital scholarship platform (www.ariesto.topazart.info), Ariesto continues to explore how moral education must be reconstructed to remain meaningful in an age increasingly shaped by AI, data-driven governance, and algorithmic mediation.
