The Gospel of John tells you, near the end, exactly why it was written: that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
Everything in it was selected for that purpose. There is no birth narrative here. No genealogy. No parables, not one. No exorcisms. No account of the bread and cup. Around ninety percent of this Gospel appears nowhere else in the Bible.
What is here instead is time. An entire chapter for one blind man. Another for one funeral. Five chapters for a single evening in a borrowed room.
This book walks the whole of it, all twenty-one chapters, in thirty days. Nothing skipped.
WHAT YOU GET EVERY DAY, IN TWELVE TO FIFTEEN MINUTES
One passage to read in your own Bible. A key verse to carry through the day. A clear, plain-English teaching with no theology degree required. See It Clearly, the background most devotionals skip: the historical setting, the Greek where it changes the meaning, what archaeology has confirmed, and where scholars honestly disagree. One concrete action. Three questions written for that specific passage. A prayer to start from, and a short journaling prompt.
YOU WILL FINISH KNOWING THE SHAPE OF THE BOOK
The seven signs, and why John calls them signs rather than miracles. The seven I AM sayings, and why they made people reach for stones. Charts of both are included, with the day each one appears.
THE HARD PARTS ARE KEPT IN
Chapter 6, where the crowd walks out on him. Chapter 8, where the manuscript evidence is genuinely disputed and this book says so. The courtyard where his closest friend swore three times he had never met him.
ALSO INSIDE
Why John Is So Different, a clear explanation of how this Gospel relates to Matthew, Mark and Luke. Where to Turn, a topical index for doubt, grief, shame, fear, exhaustion and betrayal. Keeping the Habit After Day 30. Answers to the questions readers actually ask, including who wrote it and why some Bibles bracket John 8. And a printable bonus toolkit.
You do not need to know the Bible well. Doubt is not a disqualification here. Thomas asked for proof and was not scolded, and this book gives your questions the same room.
