More than a century has passed since Murray first wrote Humility. While his message remains as powerful and relevant as ever, the style and language now feel dated to modern readers.

This edition is a 21st-century update of Murray’s classic. I have kept his core message and passionate call to Christlike humility intact while rewriting much of the content and language for today’s world. The heart of the book—learning to walk in true humility before God and others—is just as needed now as it was in Murray’s day.

Wherever possible, I have maintained Murray’s earnest and compelling style. However, the chapter titles and much of the content have been rewritten to reflect how a believer living in the twenty-first century would apply these life-changing truths.

My prayer is that this updated edition will stir up a new generation of Christians to walk in the humility of Christ.
