About this ebook

A battle-hardened special forces operator. A woman who swore she’d never fall for a man in uniform. One ocean rescue that changes everything.

Marine Raider Jake Skinner has a nose for trouble. He never expected to find it in a beautiful woman adrift at sea, however. But from the moment he pulls Caroline from the waves, his mission is clear: claim her, protect her, and never let her go.

Caroline has one ironclad rule when it comes to dating: no military men. Ever. But the powerful, protective Marine who saved her is dismantling every defense she’s built—and awakening desires she’s tried desperately to ignore.

When a ruthless drug cartel targets her, Jake will wage war to keep her safe. In the heat of danger, their passion ignites, but if Caroline can’t surrender her heart and trust the man willing to die for her, they may not survive the fight.

Welcome to Alpha Squad.

These elite, alpha warriors are fiercely protective, relentlessly determined, and when they set their sights on a woman, they deploy every weapon in their arsenal to make her theirs. Each book is a fast-paced, steamy standalone romance packed with heart-pounding action, high-stakes suspense, and smoking-hot romance.

This is a fast-paced book that I could not put down. The only thing that would make this book better would be to make it a bit longer. Otherwise, a great read that I would absolutely recommend to anyone who likes a good military romance or romantic suspense. I received an ARC of Hunted by Allyson Charles through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I loved Jake’s character in this book. He is so intense, yet charismatic and his protective instincts would make me feel safe with him anytime. When Caroline unintentionally stumbles upon danger, can he keep her safe, and possible capture her heart? She might not want to be in a. Relationship with any military men, but you can’t deny the sparks that fly between them. This was quite the page turner book and a I greatly look forward to reading the next one in this series!. I enjoyed reading this story as it fits the military fictional romance so well. The one part that I wish had been written a little differently was the heroine's PTSD. Knowing people with PTSD, I ended up being disappointed at some level with the seemingly easy time the heroine had recovering. People with PTSD don't generally recover on their own, and do require therapy time with counseling. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Allyson Charles lives in Colorado. She’s the author of sexy and funny small-town romances, including the Pineville Romance series and The Forever series. A former attorney, she happily ditched those suits and now works in her pajamas writing about men’s briefs instead of legal briefs. When she’s not writing, she’s probably engaged in one of her favorite hobbies: napping, eating, or martial arts (That last one almost makes up for the first two, right?). One of Allyson’s greatest sources of happiness is that she now lives in a city that has a Cracker Barrel.

Allyson Charles also writes steamy historical romances under the name Alyson Chase, and paranormal romances under the name A. Caprice.
