Essence® bestselling author Daaimah S. Poole introduces readers to a young woman with a hot voice and superstar dreams. . .
Talented Kendra Michelle Thomas always dreamed of becoming a singing sensation. But when a broken childhood lands her and her siblings in foster care, there's not much opportunity for making dreams come true. Before she knows it, Kendra's twenty-five years old, a bartender, and trapped in a relationship going nowhere. . .
Determined to finally give her dreams a chance, Kendra spends her small savings on a demo. She soon gets a series of gigs. . .and finally a recording contract. But when a turn of events lands her right back where she started, she'll have to make a choice: sink back into obscurity--or discover if she's really got what it takes. . .
