ANDREW WITHROW has spent over fifteen years studying and teaching meditation in secular, workplace, and community settings. His approach is grounded in evidence-based mindfulness practices and stripped of dogma, making meditation accessible to skeptics, busy professionals, and anyone who has ever thought "I can't meditate."
After earning a degree in psychology and completing a two-year mindfulness teacher training program through the Insight Meditation Society, Withrow began teaching meditation in corporate environments — leading sessions at companies including Google, Microsoft, and Patagonia. He later served as a program director for Mindful Schools, where he helped bring meditation curricula to over three hundred under-resourced elementary schools across the United States.
Withrow is the creator of the Five-Minute Foundation, a free online program that has guided more than fifty thousand people through their first thirty days of meditation. His writing on mindfulness, habit formation, and mental health has appeared in *Mindful Magazine*, *Psychology Today*, and *The Harvard Business Review*. He lives in Portland, Oregon, where he practices daily meditation, hikes in the Columbia River Gorge, and is currently learning to play the cello badly.
He believes that meditation should be practical, simple, and something you actually want to do every day. If you do not meditate for a week, he wants you to know that he does not judge you. More importantly, he wants you to not judge yourself either. Just sit down and take the next breath.
