The Heartbreak Prescription

For three years, Grace Anderson sat beside her husband’s hospital bed and waited for him to wake up. Victor Hayes was one of the richest men in the country.

Grace was simply his wife. She never cared about his money.

She cared about him.But when Victor finally opened his eyes, Grace quickly discovered that waking up hadn’t changed his heart.

His first love had returned. His phone was filled with messages from her. His friends laughed behind Grace’s back.

“Now that the real Mrs. Hayes is back, Grace should know when to leave.”

Grace didn’t argue. She simply filed for divorce.

Victor couldn’t believe it.

He confronted her, expecting the timid wife who had spent three years waiting for him.

Instead, he found a completely different woman.

Grace had returned to the medical profession she abandoned when she married him. She was now a brilliant doctor with a growing reputation and a life of her own.

Victor stared at her, speechless.

“You left me because you thought I wasn’t good enough for you?”

Grace smiled.

“No.”

She picked up her medical chart.

“I left because I finally realized I was too good at being unhappy.”

Victor’s expression changed.

“Grace, I want you back.”

She raised an eyebrow.

“Then you’ll have to make an appointment.”

He frowned.

“For what?”

Grace smiled sweetly.

“An examination.”

“Your heart seems to be the only thing that needs treatment.”

And for the first time, Victor understood that getting his wife back would be far harder than waking up from a three-year coma.
