The Life of Oliver Tree is an original, unauthorized biography-style book exploring the strange, emotional, and unforgettable rise of one of modern music’s most unusual artists.

From his early life in Santa Cruz, California, to his beginnings as a young musician experimenting with sound, identity, and performance, this book follows Oliver Tree’s journey from underground creativity to viral fame. Known for his bowl cut, oversized clothes, red sunglasses, scooters, surreal music videos, and unpredictable public persona, Oliver Tree became more than just a singer — he became a living meme, a performance artist, and a symbol of internet-era weirdness.

This book looks beyond the jokes and costumes to explore the deeper themes in his work: loneliness, rejection, heartbreak, fame, self-image, masculinity, and the pressure of being seen by millions while still feeling misunderstood. Through albums such as Ugly Is Beautiful, Cowboy Tears, Alone in a Crowd, and Love You Madly Hate You Badly, Oliver Tree built a world where absurdity and sincerity could exist side by side.

Part biography, part cultural reflection, Weird by Design examines how Oliver Tree turned awkwardness into power, embarrassment into style, and internet chaos into art. It is a story about music, identity, creativity, and the courage to be strange in public.
