The Retreat

When you look deep within, you might be surprised by what you discover...

Nueva Vida’s holistic retreat in Costa Rica promises to “unveil your inner-knowing and guide you toward your destiny,” but for Marlee, Juliette, Sophia, and Annie, the experience becomes far more life-changing than they ever anticipated. Maggie, a young architect from Pittsburgh who is still grieving her mother’s unexpected death, is welcomed into their group by Marlee and her friends, who each bring their own hidden pain and doubts.

Guided by shamans, astrologers, and intuitive healers, these five women are pushed beyond their comfort zones, facing emotional challenges they’ve long suppressed. As they participate in spiritual healings, startling revelations emerge that none of them saw coming. Yet, by learning to trust, let go, and believe in what seems unimaginable, each woman discovers a vital missing piece to her life’s puzzle.

Told through the perspectives of both Marlee and Maggie, The Retreat is a journey of spiritual awakening, deep friendship, and personal transformation. The second book in The Awakening series, this story is a crucial bridge that prepares Marlee and her friends to step into their new roles as the Healers.
