The Story of Groww: How Four Friends Simplified Investing and Changed India Forever
About this audiobook
In 2016, four friends working at Flipkart sat down over breakfast with one simple question:
Why is investing in India still so complicated?
From that question was born Groww, a fintech startup that would go on to become India’s largest stockbroking platform and the face of a new financial revolution.
But this isn’t just a story about an app.
It’s a story about belief — how a boy from a small village in Madhya Pradesh, Lalit Keshre, grew up to lead millions of Indians into the world of financial freedom.
In The Story of Groww, Kunal Kapoor unpacks the company’s extraordinary journey — from the challenges of building trust in a complex market to transforming the language of money into something every Indian could understand.
Through deeply human storytelling, real business insights, and inspiring lessons in simplicity, the book reveals how Groww turned education into marketing, users into believers, and technology into empathy.
“We’re not in the business of money. We’re in the business of trust.” — Lalit Keshre
This book is both a case study and a call to action — showing how startups can scale ethically, how education can be the most powerful marketing tool, and how one quiet revolution changed the way an entire nation thinks about investing.
