Beneath the surface, the current hides more than water.
When journalist Sarah Hart learns her estranged brother’s body has been pulled from the Brisbane River, she sees more than another “accidental drowning.” Bruises, missing belongings, and a whisper of conspiracy point to something darker. As Sarah digs, she unearths coded files, shadow networks, and a syndicate moving meth hidden in glass shipments… a current of crime that runs from city wharves to Parliament’s corridors.
Joined reluctantly by Detective Harris, a cop torn between conscience and orders, Sarah descends into Brisbane’s underworld… a world of divers paid to “clear” bodies, black SUVs shadowing survivors, and politicians smiling with blood in their ledgers. Each answer drags her deeper, each warning pulls her closer to the same fate Daniel met.
Undertow is a taut, atmospheric thriller of corruption, grief, and resilience… a story of one woman facing a tide meant to drown her, and learning how to survive beneath it.
