About this audiobook

New York TimesĀ Bestseller

A victim of her mother’s Munchausen by proxy and child abuse survivor, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard’s unique and controversial case made headlines across the world.

Now, she’s finally free to start living her life on her terms—and to tell her own story as only she can.

Forced to use a wheelchair in public and endure a lifetime of faux illness, fraud, and exploitation, Gypsy was subjected not only to her mother’s medical, physical, and emotional abuse, but deprived of childhood milestones. Prevented from attending school or socializing, Gypsy’s formative years were defined by pain and isolation.

After serving eight years in prison for the role she played in her mother Dee Dee’s murder, Gypsy is embracing her fresh start—and reminding all of us that it’s never too late.

In this revelatory, harrowing, and ultimately hopeful memoir, Gypsy shares the painful realities she grew up with and the details of her life that only she knows, including:

• The abusive cycle that began with Dee Dee’s abuse by her father

• Gypsy’s fear that continued unnecessary surgery would leave her truly disabled

• How she coped with guilt and accepted responsibility for her mother’s death

• Memories of her final days in prison

• What she learned upon reviewing her own medical records for the first time

• How it felt to finally see her family again as her authentic self

Featuring new facts about Gypsy’s life that she previously kept private,Ā My Time to StandĀ offers an unprecedented look at the real Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, proudly embarking on her ongoing journey to recovery and self-discovery.

Obvious lies and inconsistencies. she contradicts herself throughout the book. Not to mentuons she contradicts what she has said in previous interviews and what she said on the stand. One page says Dan was the first person to know she could walk, several pages later, she says Nick was the first. Poor grammar, poor editing..

People saying she was lying through this book. What exactly was she lying about She even put in gruesome details on what happened. People just can't handle the truth. And the fact that her mother was the abuser and manipulator. And that Nick was a twisted individual, and I'm so glad that he's rottening in prison for the rest of his life, he should not be out in society with that kind of personality.

I LOVED this book. I have watched the movie, lifetime confession show and no she is not lying about this. I believe if you're scared enough you wouldn't say anything either. I really think people are just haters because they aren't happy unless they are hating on people. WHY? Does it make you feel better or feel like the bigger person? I just don't get it. I think she did wrong for what she did but I totally understand she felt that was the only way out of the situation. I would love to meet her and just be friends with her. So my mother always told me, "If you do NOT have anything nice to say about someone, then do NOT say anything at all!" So please be nicer to people. God does not like those kind of people. Remember "Treat others AS you want to be treated!"
