About this audiobook

Whisper has been in every book.

Perhaps you noticed. The shimmer at the edge of a scene, the warm silver light on a stream bank in the small hours, the presence that arrived at exactly the moment a character was ready to hear it. Whisper was there when Miskunnaor chose the sleep, and promised her that the red-haired girl was coming. It was in Grumble's stream sixty-eight years before Arae arrived. It was in the workshop the night Curtis finally let himself grieve. In the forest when Olga almost didn't come back. In the inn at Thorsten's Landing when Tobin needed someone to name his running. And in the Valley of Becoming, tending a young crimson dragon through her second rising.

This is the book where Whisper steps into the light.

Arae is seventeen. She has felt a thread pulling toward something unnamed for months. When she goes to Miskunnaor, the ancient dragon tells her everything she has been waiting a decade to tell: an adjacent world, running parallel, a dragon named Seraphine, and a convergence that has been building since before either of them was born. At Lake Mjolnir, at dusk, with everyone she loves gathered at the water's edge, the lake's surface becomes clear — not turbulent, not dramatic, simply clear — and through it: the Valley of Becoming, gold-lit and vast, and six dragons walking toward the water.

What happens when a tiny Viking queen meets a golden Guardian? When a wheelwright and a wanderer and a troll and an ancient dragon and a fierce cat and a loyal dog and five sibling Guardians find themselves in the same story at last? And when Whisper gathers them all — every character from both worlds — and finally answers the question that has followed it through nine books: what are you, and why us?

This is that story. Every thread is here. And the answer, when it comes, is the truest thing the series has ever said.

Includes the final Jungian Analysis — The Crown of Individuation — and a final Call to Action: The Crown Is Yours.

For every character who carried a thread through the dark. And for every reader who followed them.

About the author

Tiffany Solter, PhD is a mental health professional, educator, advocate, and lifelong seeker of magic whose writing explores the boundaries between life, death, justice, and the profound connections that define us. Born into a family of mountain people spanning Wyoming and Colorado, she grew up shaped, largely, by two grandmothers who taught her, one through train journeys across the West, the other chasing shooting stars across the plains, that anything is possible.

A survivor of a near-death experience in 1996, Solter spent decades integrating what she encountered in that "warm place where light is everything" into a life of healing work, academic achievement, and fierce advocacy. She holds a doctorate with a dissertation on grace and recovery, and has worked alongside peer counselors, nurses, and mental health teams she considers among the most transformative teachers of her life.

Her advocacy voice is unflinching and deeply personal. In "Be a Man": The Violence Society Ignores, Solter turns her clinical expertise and lived experience toward a crisis our culture has long refused to see: domestic violence against men. Drawing on research, survivor accounts, and her own family history, she challenges the archetypal and institutional blind spots that leave male victims invisible, unbelieved, and without adequate resources. The book is equal parts gripping fiction, Jungian psychological analysis, and practical call to action. It is complete with resource guides for survivors, supporters, military families, and children. It is the work of someone who has sat in clinical rooms with these men, loved them as family, and refused to stay silent.

She lives in what she calls Camelot, a home she and her husband Jeff manifested in childhood whispers, surrounded by family, familiars, motorcycles, and what she simply calls the magic.

“Between Worlds” is her memoir. "Be a Man" is her battle cry.
