The story was kinda interesting but the narrator(s) voice grated on my last nerve. They all sounded like they were talking like a 1950's detective-show/mob-voice, from Brooklyn, or somewhere like that. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it ruined the whole story for me. Maybe other people like that? Nothing sexual and no bad language. That was good. It's a good, clean read... just not to listen to.... for me.

I'm not getting into this book. I'm on chapter 15 and simply can't get past the inaccuracies. She has no savings and her brother, who only had $5,000 from an acting gig, bought her a store front by signing 1 piece of paper, then he buys her an ocean-side apartment within 20 minutes of the store purchase, so she can actually run her bakery. And she still had money somewhere to renovate the entire store and purchase everything she needed. She had a grand opening without even having a name for the bakery, and hung the businesses sign after getting a visitor. The scene on the beach is frustrating as well because it's as if the author did no research on how a crime scene or witnesses are processed. Not even a little. Also, the narrator gives me a headache. It's like listening to the robotic AI woman that narrates captions on tiktok.

Good book, mostly narrator is good but the raising the voice is horrible! It scared. Me when she would yell because so loud. I turned volume down but still to loud.
