The Sixth Woman

Their friendship was a perfect play. But their pact is about to change the game forever.

Liam Donovan is the heart of his championship basketball team—a charismatic sixth man who lights up the court and the tabloids. Chloe Chen is the steady force behind the scenes, the team’s brilliant physical therapist and his lifelong best friend. Their friendship is his constant: bad dates, career highs, and a silly, champagne-fueled pact they made years ago to marry if they were both single at thirty.

With Liam’s birthday and the high-stakes playoffs approaching, the joke doesn’t seem so funny anymore. Suddenly, he’s noticing the way her smile settles him, how her touch feels different, and that the idea of a future without her is unthinkable. For Chloe, who has secretly loved him for years, his sudden attention is a dream and a nightmare. What if he’s only seeing her as a safe bet, a last resort before the clock runs out?

As the pressure mounts on and off the court, they must decide if their unshakeable friendship can survive the ultimate test: becoming something more. Is their pact a path to a happy ending, or a play that could cost them everything?

A heartfelt, slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance set in the glamorous world of professional sports, where the biggest shot to take isn’t on the court, but with the heart of your best friend.
