A Retrospect
About this audiobook
Hear the Faith That Changed a Nation—and Discover the Courage to Follow Your Own Calling
When you listen to A Retrospect, you are not just hearing history—you are stepping into the inner life of J. Hudson Taylor as he learns to trust God under pressure.
Facing danger, cultural barriers, and repeated setbacks in nineteenth-century China, Taylor developed the habits of prayer, surrender, and steady obedience that shaped the founding of the China Inland Mission. His journey from skeptic to missionary pioneer unfolds with honesty and restraint, revealing how God prepares His servants long before public success appears.
This edition features a new spoken Introduction by audiobook narrator David Allen, offering context and practical application for modern listeners who desire clarity about God’s direction. Whether during your commute, prayer walk, or quiet evening, this audiobook invites you to reflect, recalibrate, and respond.
If you are discerning your next step of obedience, this account provides more than inspiration—it provides assurance.
