About this audiobook

Facing an empty nest for the first time since the death of her husband, Dan, three years ago, Tess Everett immerses herself in volunteer work for the Winterset public parks, home of the famous covered bridges of Madison County, Iowa. But when former resident J.W. McRae shows up at one of the bridges with paintbrushes and easel, sparks fly—because J.W. was once married to Tess’s late friend Char. Worse, J.W. was a deadbeat dad to Char’s son, Wynn—then a college student—who Tess and Dan took under their wings after his mom’s death.

About the author

Deborah Raney’s first novel, A Vow to Cherish, inspired a World Wide Pictures film and launched Deb’s writing career. More than twenty-five years later, she’s still creating award-winning stories that touch hearts and lives. She and her husband, Ken Raney, are recent Missouri transplants from their native Kansas and enjoy spending time with their kids and grandkids.

Julie Lancelot lives in a cabin in the woods in Arkansas with her wonderful husband of twenty-five years, two sons, and a lazy beagle. She was a tax auditor for nine years before spending twelve years as a stay-at-home mom. Since 2015, she has been narrating audiobooks, and currently has voiced more than thirty-five titles. She is blessed with a large, wonderful extended family nearby, and enjoys adventures with her pack of rowdy Southern girlfriends.
