About this audiobook

Read by the author, this hilarious and heartfelt audiobook about how loves and lives are never truly lost, is perfect for fans of Rebecca Serle and Taylor Jenkins Reid.

With a leading role on a hit TV show and a relationship with Hollywood’s latest heartthrob, Meg Bryan appears to have everything she ever wanted. But underneath, her happiness is as fake as her stage name, Lana Lord. Following a tiny nervous breakdown at her thirtieth birthday party, she books an impromptu trip to Ireland. Specifically, to the village where she and her best friend Aimee always dreamt of moving.

When Meg arrives, the people in town don’t just recognize her, they seem to know her. She quickly—reluctantly—realizes she has somehow slipped into an alternate reality. One where she did move to Ireland as a teenager, one where she never got famous, and—most shocking of all—one where Aimee is alive and well.

She just wants nothing to do with Meg.

Despite her bewilderment, Meg is clear-eyed about one thing: this is a once-in-two-lifetimes chance to reconnect with her friend and repair what she broke . . . or else risk losing Aimee all over again.

A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin’s Press.

Captivating after a slow start🤔(ebook review) 3.5-4.0🌟The latter chapters of this novel were poignant & profound, with a surprise ending that shattered then reinstated hope. I just found the beginning chapters stagnated in the attempt to set the scene. For me, I would rather have jumped into the meat of the action. I am glad I persevered, though. After about the 1/4 mark, the story picked up & by the second half I was truly caught up in Meggie, Aimee and Cillian's fate. The end: a surprise!

THE OTHER SIDE OF NOW left me incapable of writing a simple review. So here are some thought fragments popping into my head: ➛A favorite of the year ➛Deep, heartfelt, poignant, emotional ➛BUT also funny and joyful ➛Beautifully written and perfectly executed Have you ever wondered what life would be like if you’d made one choice over another? Taken a different path at one of life’s crossroads? Said yes to something scary? This story takes this premise and runs with it in an unforgettable, relatable, totally believable way. I listened to the audiobook, which is narrated by the author. Honestly, that made me hesitate. It’s rare for an author to narrate their own novel, and even rarer when they do it well. No worries here. Paige Harbison absolutely nails the performance. Seriously, how does one person have so much talent? I highly recommend the audio experience. *Thanks to Macmillan Audio (#MacAudio2025) for the free audiobook download!*
