About this audiobook
The transatlantic air-lanes have never been more dangerous...
In a world where massive passenger airships rule the skies and the London-to-New York flight is the pinnacle of luxury, an unprecedented terror has emerged from the clouds. A pirate ship of terrifying speed, outfitted with utterly silent engines and heavy artillery, is shooting commercial air-liners out of the sky and plundering their cargo. When the Royal Mail ship Atlantis falls prey to the ruthless marauders, they don't just take the jewels—they kidnap England's beloved actress, Constance Shepherd.
For Sir John Custance, Chief Commissioner of the British Air Police, this isn't just an act of war; it is a deeply personal attack. Constance is his fiancée.
In a desperate race against time, Sir John abandons his desk at Scotland Yard of the Air, donning a master disguise and partnering with a razor-sharp, enigmatic Japanese detective named Mr. Danjuro. Together, they plunge into a dark and dangerous underworld of disgraced aviators, aristocratic criminals, and hidden coastal lairs. Their prime suspect? A disgraced World War I hero known only as "Hawk" Helzephron, a genius driven by an obsessive and overmastering passion.
James Harvey's The Air Pirate is a high-octane vintage thriller packed with retro-futuristic aviation, brilliant deductive logic, and heart-pounding suspense. Fasten your seatbelts for an unforgettable flight!
