Death in the dusk: A Classic Golden Age Mystery of Midnight Terrors and Welsh Legends
About this audiobook
In the mist-shrouded peaks of Aidenn Forest, an ancient horror has awakened to crash a wedding party.
Antiquarian Alfred Bannerlee expects nothing more than a quiet walking tour through the remote Welsh countryside. But after a harrowing plunge into a fog-drenched valley to escape a charging bull, he stumbles upon the gloomy, centuries-old estate of Highglen House. Inside, a bizarre 'Bidding Feast' is underway, populated by a wealthy, eccentric cast of characters waiting on a guest of honor who has mysteriously vanished.
But the missing Sir Brooke Mortimer is the least of their worries. A sinister entity known only to local legend as Parson Lolly has breached the grounds. As the midnight clock tolls, a blood-stained battle-axe is discovered on the lawn, disembodied cries shatter the darkness, and macabre warnings are left in the shadows.
Death in the dusk is a chilling blend of classic British whodunit and Gothic thriller. Can Bannerlee and his trapped companions unravel the truth behind the demonic trickster before the legend claims a life? Prepare for a masterful locked-room-style mystery that will keep you guessing until the final, breathless reveal.
