About this audiobook
A troubled artist and a lone-wolf writer uncover a need for connection in this swoon-worthy romance from New York Times–bestselling author Carolyn Brown. Jillian Williams, a Texan artist specializing in oil paintings, doesn't have time for romance. She has three more pieces to complete ahead of her upcoming gallery show, and besides, she's perfectly happy in the company of her cat, Molly. Unable to afford any distractions, she escapes to a cabin in the remote town of Wamba. It's the perfect, tranquil setting to get some real work done—until the quiet forest backdrop is disrupted by country songs blaring out of a nearby truck's speakers. Wyatt Creswell is a bestselling mystery author who does his best work while listening to loud music. Accompanied by his dog, Rascal, he has less than a month to finish his latest novel. It's crunch time to say the least, but his flow keeps getting disrupted by a certain haughty neighbor asking him to turn the volume down. He wishes he could just write her off, but there's a haunting quality in her eyes that he can't shake. It draws him in, bringing him back to her doorstep each passing day. Soon, what started as a hostile standoff turns into something akin to domestic bliss. With every shared meal and nature walk, the two break down each other's walls, learning to trust again for the first time in a long while. But their stays in Wamba were only ever meant to be temporary. Their real lives are calling, their deadlines closing in. As Jillian and Wyatt get swept back up in the hustle and bustle of city life, however, their work begins to feel uninspired. Will they finally come to realize what they truly need is to let someone else in?
