At the Edge of Becoming: The Celestials Book 4

At first, the Elthari believed the disturbance near the galactic heart was a natural phenomenon. A dimming of background radiation. A thinning of stellar winds. A strange, persistent drop in quantum noise across the system.

But then stars began to go quiet.

Not explode. Not collapse. Not fade.

They simply ceased.

Entire spectrums vanished from the sky as if someone had reached into the fabric of reality and plucked the stars out like threads from a tapestry. The Elthari astronomers named the expanding void The Kenoma, an ancient philosophical term meaning the absolute emptiness beyond existence.

They did not yet understand how literal the name would become.
