Searching for Gatsby

High-society secrets, a missing first edition, and a dead cat burglar plunge a rookie midlife investigator into a glittering world of wealth in this modern detective story with a strong female lead.

A glamorous estate party. A priceless book. And a thief dead on the lawn.

Newly divorced Ronnie Lake is saying yes to life after fifty again, and getting used to her new role as a private investigator. So, when Marilyn Watson invites her to an elegant party at her Willowbrook estate, Ronnie looks forward to a night off with friends. Before dinner even starts, Marilyn pulls Ronnie aside with a quiet problem: she's convinced her husband is cheating again, this time with a rare-book dealer. Marilyn wants proof.

Then, after dinner, as coffee is being served, a crash comes from above and a man hits the lawn. But Ronnie notices what the others don't. The fall doesn't add up, and the loud crack she heard moments before makes one thing clear: this wasn't an accident.

By the end of the night a first edition of The Great Gatsby vanishes, and Ronnie is pulled into Willowbrook's wealth and lies.

Can Ronnie and her German shepherd, Warrior, expose what the rich are hiding before she becomes the next target?

Packed with twists and high-society secrets, Searching for Gatsby is book two in the Ronnie Lake Mysteries, a female sleuth series blending sharp wit, heart, and mounting suspense.
