Death of a High-Flyer
About this audiobook
Everyone’s favorite Scottish Highland constable returns in the next installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling Hamish MacBeth series.
Sergeant Hamish Macbeth is enjoying an unseasonably fine spring with Claire by his side. Yet while Claire seems happy to think about the future, Hamish is still coming to terms with just how much she means to him. Then a body is discovered beneath a remote cliff and any chance of a quiet life disappears . . .
The victim, wealthy businessman Kieron O'Brien, has been shot dead while photographing a nesting pair of white-tailed eagles. Beside him lies one of the birds, also killed by a rifle shot.
As outrage sweeps through the Highlands, Hamish finds no shortage of suspects.
But the strangest clue comes from O'Brien's recovered camera. Hidden among photographs of the eagles is one final image: a distant figure aiming a rifle directly at the photographer.
With pressure from his superiors and rumours spreading like wildfire across Lochdubh, Hamish must discover who pulled the trigger before the killer strikes again.
