The Infidel: A Story of the Great Revival

The Infidel: A Story of the Great Revival is a Victorian novel of faith, doubt, and moral awakening. William Thornton, a disgraced clergyman turned skeptic, and his daughter Antonia struggle to survive in London’s literary world. Raised to question belief, Antonia longs for meaning beyond her father’s infidel views. As spiritual revival challenges their convictions, Braddon explores conscience, redemption, and the tension between intellect, belief, and social ambition.
