As this fascinating, beautifully written, and compassionate call-to-action shows, fragile and interrelated systems are being undermined. Once they’re disrupted, it may be impossible to restore them. The Aral Sea, formerly the world’s fourth-largest lake, has all but disappeared. The drying of Great Salt Lake is creating a human and wildlife disaster. The management of Owens Lake offers a glimmer of hope—if we reverse course now. The audiobook is well done. Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.
