About this audiobook

Chicago, 1960. Sam "Momo" Giancana runs the Outfit from a back booth on Milwaukee Avenue — and he's just been asked, by a government that will never admit it asked, to help kill a foreign head of state. What starts as a favor becomes the most dangerous secret of his life, dragging in a Hollywood fixer, a Tampa boss with his own grudge against Havana, a Cuban insider who can't pull the trigger, and a journalist who won't stop pulling the thread. Fifteen years later, nine days before he's set to testify before the U.S. Senate, Giancana is shot seven times in his own kitchen. No one is ever charged. Built from the real history of the CIA-Mafia plots against Fidel Castro — the Church Committee findings, Jack Anderson's reporting, and the still-unsolved murders that followed — this is a mob thriller about men who did their government's dirty work and found out too late what that kind of secret actually costs.
