American-African Warriors is a gripping memoir that moves from global conflict zones to the deeply personal front lines of mental health, resilience, and recovery. As a security contractor supporting U.S. diplomatic missions, Paul Michael Miles traveled the globe. He witnessed civil unrest, lived near Al-Qaeda camps just days before 9/11, and stood amid extraordinary instability.
Rooted in a multigenerational legacy of patriotism and military service, this book offers an unflinching look at both external conflict and internal struggle. But it is more than a record of survival—it is a call to confront the silence surrounding mental illness. Designed to foster honest dialogue, challenge stigma, and serve as a toolkit for healing, American-African Warriors invites readers not only to bear witness but to begin the hard, necessary conversations that lead to hope, purpose, and restoration.
