Red River Flood

RED RIVER FLOOD

The river is rising. The outlaw is waiting. And U.S. Marshal Eldridge Sample is riding straight into the flood.

Silas “Loco” Pete is the kind of outlaw people turn into a legend.

He leaves dead men posed like theater props. He sends messages carved into the landscape. He laughs while the law follows him. And now he has deliberately driven south toward the Red River, knowing a catastrophic storm is about to turn the Arkansas wilderness into a deadly maze of flooded roads, collapsing banks, ruined crossings, and raging water.

U.S. Marshal Eldridge Sample knows exactly what Pete is doing.

Pete wants an audience.

He wants Sample to chase him into the flood.

Sample follows anyway.

As the river rises, the trail becomes harder to read and the stakes become impossible to ignore. Farms disappear beneath the water. Wagons overturn. Horses fight against currents that can swallow them whole. Families are trapped on shrinking islands of high ground while Pete uses the disaster as cover for his escape—and as another weapon against the marshal hunting him.

But Sample refuses to abandon the living just to catch one killer.

Every mile costs him time.

Every rescue gives Pete more distance.

And every encounter proves that Loco Pete isn't simply running from the law. He's designing the chase.
