William Wallace: Scotland’s Great Freedom Fighter

William Wallace is a gripping historical biography of the legendary Scottish knight who became one of the central figures of the First War of Scottish Independence.

Set in 13th-century Scotland during the English occupation under King Edward I of England, this compelling account traces Wallace’s rise from relative obscurity to Guardian of Scotland and leader of a national resistance movement. It examines his military strategy, leadership, capture, and execution, and the enduring impact of his martyrdom on the Scottish Wars of Independence.

Beyond the legend popularized by Braveheart, this biography presents the historical William Wallace — warrior, patriot, and symbol of national identity — and places his struggle within the wider context of medieval British history and the eventual rise of Robert the Bruce.
