Short Description

In a rain-soaked city haunted by fire, museum archivist Evelisse Rhodes has spent fifteen years trying to survive the ashes of the tragedy that destroyed her family. But when a series of brutal arsons begins spreading across the city, she finds herself drawn back to the flames by a terrifying force she cannot resist.

At every fire scene, a shadow waits in the smoke — a man with burning amber eyes and the scent of rain and pine.

The police believe he is a monster.

Her therapist believes he is a delusion.

But Evelisse knows one horrifying truth:

He is the boy who once pulled her from the fire.

And he may have been the one who started it.
