About this audiobook

"Crank. Glass. Ice. Crystal. Whatever you call it, it’s all the same: a monster. And once it’s got hold of you, this monster will never let you go."

A sequel to Crank, this harrowing and disturbing look at addiction finds protagonist Kristina Snow thinking she can use drugs yet control the consequences. Now with a baby to care for, she’s determined to be the one deciding when and how much, the one calling the shots. But the monster is too strong and, before she knows it, Kristina is back in its grips. She needs the monster to keep going, to face the pressures of day-to-day life. She will do anything for it, including giving up the only thing that makes her truly happy.

Chilling and haunting in a way so few stories are. From its basis in real life, the poetic writing style adding SO much to an already emotion heavy work, the characters themselves. The book is a masterpiece of heartbreak and undeserved hope. Laura Flanagan is nothing short of absolute perfection as the narrator. Even when I pick up the physical book to read it again, I can't help but hear every word through her voice. Characters are distinct, the emotion is raw and heavy, the inflections, verbalizations and intonation make every word come screaming off the page. I can't recommend it enough, and certainly can't praise it highly enough.
