The Summer Mom Disappeared

When their mother disappears without warning, sixteen-year-old Isla Everly is left holding together the fragile pieces of her family. Her father hides his panic behind forced optimism and disastrous attempts at normalcy, while her younger brother Toby retreats deeper into his carefully ordered world of routines, maps, and model cars.

Then Isla discovers something unexpected: a handwritten Route 66 itinerary hidden among her mother’s belongings — a carefully planned trail stretching west across forgotten diners, neon motels, and empty highways.

Desperate to keep the family from falling apart, Isla joins her father and brother on a chaotic cross-country road trip that quickly becomes more than a search for answers. As the miles grow longer and old wounds rise to the surface, they begin to uncover the quiet truths their mother left behind — and the painful reasons she needed to leave.

Tender, cinematic, and deeply human, The Summer Mom Disappeared is a story about grief, survival, and the fragile ways families try to find each other again when everything familiar has been left behind.
