The Silent winter

How do you find a killer in a country where crime is officially impossible?

Moscow, 1943. The Soviet Union is gripped by the iron fist of war and the suffocating silence of the state. Lev Demidov, a decorated war veteran and a dedicated investigator, lives by the rules of the system—until the system asks him to ignore the unthinkable.

When a series of gruesome family murders comes to light, the official directive is clear: these are not the acts of a predator, for the State has eliminated such "capitalist diseases." But Lev sees the truth in the small, stolen tokens left behind at every crime scene—a wooden spoon here, a silver medal there. These are the trophies of a ghost the locals call 'The Wolf.'

Driven by a conscience he thought he had lost, Lev embarks on a perilous journey across the fractured Russian landscape. From the desperate streets of Samara to the ancient, brooding towers of Svaneti, he and his ally Nina Petrova must outrun the secret police while hunting a monster that thrives in the shadows of propaganda.

"The Silent Winter" is more than a mystery thriller; it is a haunting exploration of the human spirit’s resilience. It is a tribute to the "Spoons"—the millions of lives nearly erased by history, waiting for the spring to finally reveal the truth.

Perfect for fans of historical noir and high-stakes suspense, this novel will keep you breathless until the final frost t
