Name From Beneath
Richard Smith
A research vessel recovers an ancient alloy panel from a silent trench. Etched with key-shaped glyphs and sealed by a name, the panel should have stayed buried.
It doesn’t.
Dr. Miriam Haddad develops a burning mark beneath her skin that answers the name and pulls her inland. With the ship’s captain, a technician, and a priest, she flees as the claim tightens and older doors begin to stir. At a remote monastery that still remembers how to bind what was sealed, they attempt to close what the deep has started to open.
Some names were never meant to be spoken again.
Some seals were never meant to break.
A Christian speculative thriller of deep-sea discovery, ancient bindings, and the cost of refusing a claim that will not stay buried.
