Remorse: Finding Joy through Honest Apology

What started as a book about personal responsibility quickly turned into something else entirely. The most disturbing aspect of this book is the propaganda woven into its message. Instead of focusing on genuine remorse and personal accountability, the author shifts into discussions of systemic racism, white supremacy, and collective guilt. One particularly troubling moment was when he described white participants in a church curriculum feeling anxious about their role in these issues—as if their discomfort was proof of their complicity. Racism exists in all directions, and while it’s important to acknowledge historical injustices, I refuse to apologize for something I did not do. True remorse comes from recognizing our own failings, not accepting blame for societal issues beyond our control. This book left me deeply disappointed, and I cannot recommend it. I wish I could get a refund.
