About this audiobook

To save my best friend, I sacrificed myself to a vampire.

The fanged warrior wants nothing to do with me...until he gets a taste. Now he won’t let me go.

Cyan of Blood ‘til Dawn never wanted a blood pet, a human to protect and care for in exchange for blood. But thanks to a centuries-old agreement between humans and vampires, he’s stuck with me. As long as my best friend is safe, I’ll accept the hand I’m dealt.

Cyan, with his sharp smirks and ruthless teasing, prefers variety when it comes to his feedings. He’s not the type to commit to one blood source, let alone one female in his bed. Clearly, neither of us want this blood pet arrangement.

Until a tiny cut spills my blood and undoes everything.

Cyan can’t stop himself from tasting me. And I can’t help but crave the toe-curling pleasure when he draws on my vein.

He may be addicted to my blood, but that doesn’t mean Cyan desires me.

Good thing I’m more than just a pet to a bloodthirsty man who will never love me.

I’ll make him regret using and discarding me like a toy.

Even when I want him just as badly as I hate him.

Taste of Fate is a standalone romance with a guaranteed HEA. This series contains fated mates, possessive vampires, and a new world full of conflicts and secrets. Perfect for fans of The Black Dagger Brotherhood and Immortals After Dark!

Some stories hook you with romance. Others hook you with choice, and Taste of Fate absolutely falls into the second camp. When Tavia volunteers to replace her best friend as a vampire sacrifice, she expects brutality, not survival. Instead, she’s bound to Cyan as a blood pet in a bargain neither of them truly wants, setting the stage for a slow-burn relationship tangled in guilt, denial, and power imbalance. Tavia is the undeniable strength of this book. She’s grounded, emotionally intelligent, and driven by loyalty rather than reckless passion. Her worldview is understandably jaded, yet she adapts with resilience that feels earned, not performative. Watching her navigate vampire society while holding onto her sense of self made the story compelling even when the romance struggled. Cyan, however, was difficult to invest in. His hot-and-cold behavior, emotional withdrawal, and intentional cruelty toward Tavia went on far too long. While his internal conflict is clear, the delayed accountability makes the resolution feel rushed. I wanted to see sustained change, not just be told it finally happened. The urban fantasy setting is immersive, the vampire lore is engaging, and the premise is strong enough to carry the weaker romantic payoff. This is a good fit for readers who enjoy vampire romance with political intrigue, patient heroines, and slow-burn tension. If emotionally distant love interests frustrate you, this may test your limits.

Octavia (Tavi) took her best friends place as a sacrifice, expecting to die. Cyan drew the short straw and has to take Tavi as his blood pet. neither of them are particularly happy with this arrangement. Cyan like has bachelor life. This story captured my attention from the start, Tavi is strong and used to looking after herself and others, So when Cyan does that she is shocked. I enjoyed how the character learned to trust each other and started to become friends. The narrators are excellent.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly! Great characters and an interesting story that pulled me in right away and kept me me intrigued to hear what would happen next. I’m looking forward to more stories involving side characters in this world of vampires, werewolves, angels and dragons and the humans who wander into it.
