Chitti Kathalu

Chitti Kathalu are stories presented in a song-like or lyrical form. The storytelling or their narratives unfolds through rhythm, rhyme, and melody, making them enjoyable to sing and easy to remember, and engaging for children. Through their musical and rhythmic structure, they help develop language skills, vocabulary, pronunciation, memory, and moral values while fostering an appreciation for music and literature. Many folk traditions, historical events, and cultural values have been preserved and passed down through lyrical stories. Every time children recite or perform them, they help preserve traditional folklore and cultural heritage.

These timeless stories were written in 1981 by Smt. Surapaneni Indira Kumari, Retired Principal of Sri Prasanna Bharathi Vidyanikethan. It is Vinumaree's privilege and honor to present these treasured lyrical stories to the children of today and the generations to come.

Melodiously narrated and enchantingly brought to life by Mr. Sri Krishna Vishnubhotla, these timeless stories take us back to the cherished golden days of our childhood while preserving the rich cultural heritage they embody.
