About this audiobook

Renewable Energy Resources and Strategies

A comprehensive guide to renewable energy technologies, written for engineering students, researchers, and practitioners navigating the shift away from fossil fuels. This book surveys the full landscape of renewable energy sources and conversion technologies, moving systematically from foundational concepts to applied engineering practice.

Beginning with a classification of energy sources and the current energy scenario in India, the book covers biomass characterization and thermo-chemical conversion technologies, including gasification and pyrolysis; biochemical conversion through biogas systems, from plant design to microbiology; biofuels including biodiesel and bio-ethanol production; solar energy conversion systems, spanning photovoltaics, solar driers, and water heating and pumping applications; hydro-energy and wind energy conversion systems; and strategies for energy conservation in agriculture.

Beyond the core textbook material, this edition includes a selection of the author's published research papers exploring producer gas as an energy resource, the potential for harvesting wave and tidal energy in ocean buoy systems, and a comparative evaluation of renewable energy technologies — offering readers a bridge between classroom fundamentals and current research directions. A set of past university examination questions is also included to support exam preparation.

Written by an engineering academic with decades of teaching and research experience across mechanical and energy engineering, this book serves as both a structured course companion and a practical reference for anyone seeking a grounded, technically detailed introduction to renewable energy and sustainability strategies.
