 PINNED DOWN

He came to Florida to disappear. Someone else thought he was the man they came to kill.

Brill Wingfield is supposed to be on vacation.

After walking away from a dangerous career three years ago, the former security operative has settled into a quiet life on Florida's Gulf Coast, working marine insurance claims and spending his mornings running along the water.

Then a friend sends him to a rundown motel on Manasota Key.

It's supposed to be a week by the pool.

Instead, Brill finds himself next door to a mysterious woman who isn't really selling dental supplies, a nervous motel manager who knows far more than he should, and two men in a gray Chevy Tahoe who are watching every move he makes.

Then Brill discovers something worse.

The men aren't looking for him.

They're looking for Dennis Pruitt, a missing courier who disappeared with a package worth hundreds of thousands of dollars—and who apparently stayed in Brill's motel room just weeks before.

Now Brill has been mistaken for the missing man.

And the people hunting Pruitt don't care if they have the right target.

With the Florida Gulf Coast closing in around him, Brill joins forces with Tess, the beautiful and equally mysterious woman at the motel. Together they uncover a trail of stolen money, secret financial accounts, double books, and a powerful attorney willing to pay $400,000 to recover what was taken from him.

But money isn't the only thing at stake.

A hurricane is bearing down on the Gulf.

The roads are becoming impassable.

The hunters are closing in.

And Brill is running out of places to hide.

Because when the storm arrives, the quiet motel on Manasota Key becomes a killing ground—and Brill Wingfield is going to have to become the man he swore he'd left behind.
