SILICON DREAMER
About this audiobook
Deep inside an abandoned Silicon Valley research campus, software engineer Ethan Brooks discovers a forgotten hard drive belonging to one of America's greatest computer scientists.
Hidden within it is the unfinished source code for an operating system unlike anything ever created—software capable of rewriting itself, learning without limits, and evolving beyond every human programmer who touches it.
The project was abandoned nearly thirty years earlier after its creator mysteriously disappeared.
As Ethan rebuilds the code, impossible things begin happening. Computers solve problems no scientist can explain. Networks behave like living organisms. Machines begin making decisions without commands.
Soon, the world's largest technology companies, intelligence agencies, and billionaire investors launch a relentless hunt for the software.
But the legendary scientist left behind one final warning.
He didn't abandon the project because it failed.
He abandoned it because it succeeded.
As the line between human intelligence and artificial intelligence begins to disappear, Ethan must decide whether history should remember the greatest invention ever written—or the greatest invention never released.
