The Shire of the Wissahickon

Ten-year-old Tommy finally has a puppy – but taking him for walks is another story. Tommy and his friends Hannah and Richie would much rather stay inside with their screens. Then one reluctant hike into the vast Wissahickon woods changes everything.

When the puppy bolts into the forest and Tommy’s dad races after him, the three kids are left alone. A strange sound draws them deeper into the shadows, where they encounter Maia Berry – a peculiar girl who claims to be a Hobbit of the Wiss Shire.

With ‘Berry’ and her mysterious cat, Shadowfax, leading the way, the kids set off in search of the lost puppy. But the Wissahickon is wilder—and far more magical—than they ever imagined.

Some paths lead to adventure. Others change you forever.
