About this audiobook

There’s a lot of magic in the world, but a single touch from me and any enchantment is ashes to ashes, dust to dust. People want me dead, but the homeless are hard to pin down. At least that was true until I made a foolish mistake and rescued a caged mountain lion shifter. My null is no threat to him, but those who wanted him captured are after me now. Carlos didn’t realize the danger when he hired me to buffer him from magic that could put him back in a cage. I didn’t realize the danger of being part of a partnership. Sure, it’s better than being hungry on the streets, but it’s more dangerous for both of us. Carlos is strong and fast; I’m quick and sneaky. But will Carlos trust me enough to keep me hidden when he finds out what I am? And can I stay free long enough to protect him?

Null Witch is a stand alone urban fantasy with a touch of romance. The audio book is narrated by Lori Barkin.

I was hooked from the very first chapter! Null Witch is a breath of fresh air in the urban fantasy genre. Maria Schneider has done an incredible job bringing New Mexico’s rich myths and lore to life—the setting feels like a character of its own, blending perfectly with the shifters and witches that inhabit this world. Lori’s narration was the icing on the cake. The pacing was spot on, keeping the tension high without feeling rushed. Most importantly, the accents were handled perfectly, which really grounded the story in its Southwestern roots and made the dialogue feel authentic.

This book is such a fun listen! Lori Felipe Barkin brought all the characters to life, especially Spring. The world building is interesting and the descriptions really pulled me in — I could feel myself out in the desert. This is a great book to settle into if you just need a vacation from the world.
